Csigó Gergely
Photography is part of my life, just like true love. It fills my days even when I am not working.
For more than 20 years, I have been working as a full-time professional photographer in various fields of applied photography. In addition, to this day, I utilize analog and archaic techniques to bring my visions to life, focusing mainly on creating ambrotypes in recent times.
I am the vice president of the Sopron Photo Club Association—which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year and holds the Csokonai Award. Besides the photographic artist diploma from the Association of Hungarian Photographic Art Groups (MAFOSZ), I have also been awarded the Artist FIAP (AFIAP) title by the International Federation of Photographic Art. To date, my works have been exhibited more than 300 times across 21 countries.
I have been actively teaching since 2006. Between 2020 and 2024, I was a photography instructor at the Institute of Applied Arts at the University of Sopron. From 2025, I have been a vocational instructor for the Creative Photographer Training at the Sopron Vocational Training Center (SKC), and from February 2026, a vocational instructor for the Visual Artist program at Széchenyi István University in Győr.
My studio is located in the historic downtown of Sopron, where I am currently dedicated to educating the next generation.
